Some ideas and tips if you are going to travel to Jordan with children

Are you so passionate about big trips that you are not willing to give them up even when you have children in the family? Do you think that this is precisely a great way to teach culture and values to the little ones? So, traveling to Jordan with children will seduce you, and so will they. In this post we give you some ideas that may come in handy for your trip, with proposals and experiences that you could include in the program.

#1. Actividades deportivas y de naturaleza

So that children can expend their energy and have fun during the trip, doing sports and nature activities is always a good idea. In Jordan, these are some proposals:

  • Snorkeling in Aqaba: this city on the Red Sea is the only one where you can practice this activity, and at the same time one of the best in the Middle East, as its crystal clear waters and underwater biodiversity are a guarantee to spot species, even without straying too far from the shore
  • Climbing in Amman: it can be done without leaving the city, at the Climbat center, which is a huge climbing wall where you can ascend with all the safety conditions
  • Climbing in Wadi Rum: for those who prefer to practice this activity in the middle of nature, there is nothing better than the Wadi Rum desert, one of the meccas for these athletes from all over the world. An expert instructor will be able to accompany you to the routes of less difficulty, for the little ones

#2. Museos adaptados a niños

The museum is an inherent place for travel. But if you are traveling with children, you will have to look for the most adapted ones. In Jordan there are a few interesting ones from this point of view, such as these:

  • Children’s Museum, in Amman: the little ones are the real protagonists, as everything is designed for them, and always from a playful and pedagogical approach, in some cases with immersive and interactive experiences. Here they learn, by playing, aspects as varied as the human body, music or aviation
  • Haya Center, in Amman: It is a very active cultural center that also puts families at the center. In fact, it even has a childcare service and allows you to organize birthdays. Among its favorite spaces for children is undoubtedly its Planetarium
  • Aqaba Aquarium: As a complement or alternative to snorkeling, visiting this aquarium can also be a good idea. In this post of our blog we give you more information about it

#3. Dormir en un campamento beduino

It is already known that children love tents, so what better than to stay in a real camp, in Bedouin canvas tents, as the desert nomads have always done? This experience is not only of interest to children, but it is the most viable option when visiting the Wadi Rum desert, as it is the typical accommodation of these communities. The little ones will be amazed by the countless stars in the sky at night and the freedom of sleeping in the open air.

#4. Parques acuáticos y de atracciones

Although these types of venues are all over the world and are little different from each other, those who have children will know that children need some time of pure fun from time to time. And in this, amusement parks are the best option. The main one in Jordan is located in its capital, Amman: Luna Park. On the other hand, if you travel in the hottest season, you will surely fancy a dip full of excitement, and that is what water parks are for. You can take note of the Amman Waves, also in the capital, or Al Wadi Resort, on the Dead Sea.
