But also because its waters have a salinity level that favors effortless buoyancy, in addition to being indicated for the treatment of different diseases.

From Amman to the Dead Sea we will travel by road (approximately 50 km) and in this environment you will spend an unforgettable morning, since the travel package includes tickets for a swim in Amman Beach 2, whose facilities are outdoors and on the shore.

After that, we will return to Amman and on arrival you will have the afternoon free in the Jordanian capital, so you can use your time according to your preferences. Day 3: Amman - Madaba - Mount Nebo - Shobak - Petra

On the third day of this circuit, Amman and the Dead Sea They are left behind to head south. You will start the day with breakfast at the hotel in the capital and at the end of the day we will arrive in Petra, but before there is much to know.

The first visit of the day is Madaba, and more specifically a historical mosaic: that of the church of San Jorge. On its pavement is represented a map of the Holy Land of the sixth century, in Byzantine times, which is a document of enormous beauty and value, as your guide will explain.

After that, we will go to Mount Nebo, one of the holiest places for Judaism and Christianity, since from here Moses contemplated the Promised Land… as you yourselves can do from its viewpoint. On clear days you can see Jerusalem, but also other closer places such as the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley. The current buildings, which include among other things a church with Byzantine mosaics, make up a religious and informative enclosure at the same time.

With the panoramic views still in the retina we will return to the vehicle to continue along the road. Only a brief stop at the castle of Shobak will stop us: this fortress, also called Mont Real, was built by the crusaders of Baldwin I of Jerusalem in the twelfth century, although later conquered by Arab troops. Therefore, it is a good testimony of that convulsive and transcendental period, which influenced what is now Jordan.

Already in the last stretch of the day, we will arrive at Wadi Musa, which is the town located next to Petra and where all the hotels for visitors are. In yours you will also have dinner, before going to bed to rest for the long-awaited visit the next day.

  • Breakfast at hotel in Amman
  • Road trip:
    • Madaba: visit of the mosaic map of the Holy Land
    • Mount Nebo: visit of the sacred precinct
    • Shobak Castle
  • Arrival in Wadi Musa (Petra)
  • Dinner and overnight at hotel in Wadi Musa (Petra)

Day 4: Petra

The fourth day of this circuit is dedicated entirely to Petra, because the uniqueness of this Nabataean city carved into the rock is well worth it. Therefore, at the end of breakfast at the Wadi Musa hotel, we will go to the Visitor Center to enter the enclosure and begin the tour, helped by the horse service hired in the package.

From the Tomb of the Obelisks and through Siq or main canyon, we will arrive at the Treasury, probably its best known space: this monumental colonnaded façade hid inside the tomb of the Nabataean king Aretas III and was part of the film I
ndiana Jones and the Last Crusade
. After that, we will continue through other fascinating places of the enclosure, such as the Theater, the Street of the Facades and the nucleus of the old city, extended by Romans as you can guess in its imposing Columned Street. From here, Al Deir Monastery is an attractive final destination, before returning to the entrance and ending the visit.

For all this and much more, Petra (also called Raqmu at the time and now the Pink City) was declared a World Heritage Site in 1985. And in our minds will be engraved forever images of a unique space: channels to transport water, panoramic views from high points and corners full of magnetism, which you will review in your memory during dinner and night at the hotel of Wadi Musa … but also much later.

  • Breakfast of hotel in Wadi Musa (Petra)
  • Full day visit to Petra
  • Dinner and overnight at hotel in Wadi Musa (Petra)

Day 5: Wadi Rum - Amman

On the fifth day we reach the southernmost point of our circuit. And it is, at the same time, one of the most interesting: Wadi Rum. To do this, we will travel by road with our vehicle after breakfast at the hotel in Wadi Musa.

In just an hour and a half we will arrive at Wadi Rum, a desert declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO thanks to its extraordinary combination of nature and history, which so fascinated T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) and that still today bewitches its visitors for its impossible rock forms and its feeling of peace and freedom.

This is how we will feel it on our 4×4 route through roads and tracks that only an off-road vehicle can travel. And in this way we will approach canyons, stone bridges, reddish sand dunes and many other attractions, which remain almost virgin in many cases … except for the presence of petroglyphs made by the different civilizations that passed through here or dwelt.

After this interesting route with an adventure point, we will return to our vehicle to travel by road back to Amman. We will arrive throughout the afternoon, so you will enjoy free time until dinner, which will be served at the hotel where you will spend the night.

  • Breakfast of hotel in Wadi Musa (Petra)
  • Road trip to Wadi Rum
    • Two-hour 4×4 route through the desert
  • Return trip to Amman
  • Free afternoon in Amman
  • Dinner and overnight at hotel in Amman

Day 6: Amman

Amman is Jordan’s largest and most vibrant city, as you would expect from a capital of more than 4 million people. And if we add to this a rich history, the result is a tourist destination of the most attractive. Therefore, after breakfast at the hotel, we will leave you free time to organize the day according to your preferences.

Of course, we can give you advice on what to do, but the final choice of plan will depend on your tastes. Gastronomic experiences, craft shopping or visits to museums (Jordan Museum, Folklore Museum …) are some of the proposals. And surely your steps will inevitably lead you to Jebel al-Qala’a and the Citadel, the historic heart of the capital. In any case, we will also recommend which areas to see of the city, because the next day a brief guided tour is planned.

And in the evening, dinner is again served at the hotel where you will be staying, so the day invites you to explore the city from morning until the end of the day.

  • Breakfast at hotel in Amman
  • Free day in Amman
  • Dinner and overnight at hotel in Amman

Day 7: Amman - Jerash - Ajloun - Amman

Until the seventh day, this circuit will have taken you through the most interesting of central and southern Jordan: from Amman to the Dead Sea, Madaba, Petra and Wadi Rum, mainly. But there is still a very important part of the country: the north, because of its enormous contrast with what has been seen so far. And that is the area that will cover this day.

In any case, after breakfast at the hotel, the first section of the day will be dedicated to a brief but necessary tour of Amman: our guide will explain in detail three essential spaces, such as the Citadel, the Roman Theater and the Archaeological Museum. Its discovery will allow you to complete the knowledge acquired about the capital, called Philadelphia in Antiquity.

More evident is the Roman legacy in the next visit of the day: the excursion to Jerash, called Gerasa by that civilization that extended here. This city was part of the Decapolis and was one of the most important in the eastern end of the empire. It will be easy to understand when walking through its spectacular archaeological park, with monuments such as the Arch of Hadrian (emperor who visited the city), the Roman theaters or the forum, in the form of Oval Square.

More recent but very interesting will also be the afternoon visit: the Castle of Ajloun, built by Saladin’s troops to strengthen the Islamic reconquests against the crusaders who dominated Jerusalem, although it was later rebuilt by the Mamluks after repelling the Mongol invasion in the thirteenth century. In a fortified enclosure, it is also in harmony with the green environment that surrounds it and that can be seen from above: the nature reserve of Ajloun, where Jordan shows its most ‘Mediterranean’ side.

After the visit to Ajloun, we will return to Amman by road. Dinner will be served at the hotel, which will be the last of the circuit before its completion.

  • Breakfast at hotel in Amman
  • Guided tour of Amman
  • Road trips:
    • Jerash: visit of the Roman city
    • Ajloun Castle: visit of the medieval fortress
  • Return to Amman
  • Dinner and overnight at hotel in Amman
