Main Places to Visit with the Jordan Pass

In a recent post, we mentioned some of the main places to visit with the Jordan Pass, and the convenience of having one of these passes to travel the country, as it also includes visa fees. And many of these places are so famous that they have already been featured in other articles on our blog. In total, there are about 40 attractions included: in the following lines, we collect only some of the most important ones, with links to their corresponding article so you can expand information. And in future posts we will take care of all the others, because they all deserve a visit.

Petra: the Great Destination of Every Tour of Jordan

There is no doubt that whoever travels to Jordan for the first time has Petra as their great goal. And that is why the different modalities of Jordan Pass depend on the days of visit in this mythical enclosure: one, two or three days of consecutive visit, which places the price of the pass between 70 and 80 JDs. The rest of the advantages are similar in all Jordan Passes. One day of visit will be enough for those who do not have much time, while two will be necessary for those who also wish to enjoy the experience of discovering Petra at night. And three consecutive days of visit will allow you to reach the most remote sites of the enclosure, such as the Ad Deir Monastery, and even do some hiking with panoramic views of the enclosure.

Wadi Rum: World Heritage Desert

The Wadi Rum desert is a natural reserve declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and the Jordan Pass gives access to it, without limit of nights of stay. Thus, you can take 4×4 routes, stay in one of its Bedouin camps or stop at the historical vestiges hidden in its rocks, such as its petroglyphs. It is also the place of celebration of one of the recreations of the JHRC, with its famous Hejaz train.

Jerash: the Pompeii of Jordan

Jerash surprises by being one of the best archaeological sites of the ancient Roman Empire, with spaces as spectacular as its hippodrome, its oval forum, its temples, its monumental fountains and its urban layout, well preserved. It is one of the great attractions of the north of the country, where cultural events and historical demonstrations are also organized.

Citadel of Amman

Without leaving the capital, the Citadel of Amman is one of the most significant sites to visit, as it is considered the founding nucleus of the city. In it are located spaces as different as the Umayyad Palace or the Temple of Hercules, as well as the Archaeological Museum of Amman, where the most valuable pieces recovered here are exhibited, which can be visited with the Jordan Pass.

Amman Theater and Folk Museums

It is convenient not to confuse the Citadel of Amman and the Roman Theater: although they are not very far away, it is located at a lower and more accessible level. And next to it are located the odeon (smaller theater) and two museums of ethnographic character: the Jordanian Traditions and the Folkloric. All this is part of the places to visit with the Jordan Pass.

Museum of the Lowest Point on Earth

The Dead Sea is considered the lowest point on Earth, at about -414 meters. And to commemorate that record is located this museum that, in reality, is rather an archaeological museum where to trace the prehistory and history of the area, with ceramics from the Bronze Age, Nabataean pieces and objects of the daily life of the Nabataeans.

Castles: Crusaders and Arabs

Scattered throughout the country there are different castles, of very different origins and characteristics. Some of those that we have already treated and that, effectively, are places to visit with the Jordan Pass are the one of Karak and those of the East. But there are more, and we will address them in future articles so that you can assess whether it is worth visiting them, since they are included in the pass
