How to Travel to Jordan from Brazil: Flights and Visas

Many travelers consider visiting Jordan from Brazil, given the tourist appeal of this Middle Eastern country. Therefore, it’s worth asking what flights exist between both countries and what other requirements are needed to enter the country, especially regarding visas. We discuss all of this in this post, which aims to give you the basic information to start planning your trip.

Flights to Jordan from Brazil

Given the great distance between Jordan and Brazil, air travel is essential for traveling between both countries. As of March 2025 (the time of writing this post), there are no direct routes between Brazilian and Jordanian airports. There are plans to open some direct lines in the future with the country’s main airport (Amman Queen Alia): there’s talk of Campinas-Viracopos with Azul Linhas Aéreas and São Paulo-Guarulhos with LATAM Brasil, but for now, these are just hypotheses.

However, there is a wide variety of possibilities for flights with one stopover. In this case, São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport offers the most options, using different international destinations in Europe, North America, and Asia as intermediate stopover points. For example, the São Paulo-Doha-Amman route with Qatar Airways or São Paulo-Istanbul-Amman with Turkish Airlines can be mentioned. But many other options can be explored using Madrid with Iberia, Paris with Azul, or London with LATAM. And of course, with the national carrier: Royal Jordanian.

In cases of flights with one stopover, the total travel duration can be around 20 hours, including the waiting time for the layover, although depending on the chosen combination, it can be a few hours less or more. There’s also wide variability with prices, which in these cases usually cost from 8,000 BRL upwards.

However, it’s also possible to plan flights with two or three stopovers. This extends the journey by a few more hours, but paradoxically can lower the total ticket price.

Visas for Brazilians in Jordan

The other big question that Brazilian travelers intending to visit Jordan often ask is: “Do I need a visa to enter the country?” And the answer is “yes,” but fortunately, this won’t be a problem, as citizens with Brazilian passports obtain it automatically.

It’s called the Jordan Pass, which serves as a permit to enter and travel through the country for two weeks (it expires 2 weeks after its first scan in the country). It’s also important to note that the Jordan Pass can be used within 12 months of purchase.

This visa can be purchased online or at the arrival airport offices, right after landing in the country. The first option is more convenient and faster, to avoid queues and possible inconveniences, as it can be purchased from home.

And its cost varies according to the services associated with it: from basic to expert, depending on the number of days visiting Petra, with a cost between 70 and 80 Jordanian dinars (approximately between 560 and 650 BRL).

As we said, this information about flights and visas to enter Jordan is a good starting point to begin planning your trip from Brazil. But if you want to design a tailor-made program, with a circuit that takes you to the main destinations of the country (Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea, etc.), you can put yourself in the hands of Exclusive Jordan, an agency specialized in custom proposals, with varied activities, guided tours, premium accommodation and transport.
