A combined tour of Jordan and Egypt It’s a natural proposition for all kinds of people. These are some of the reasons that will convince you to visit both countries on the same trip:
Given its tourism potential, transportation options are very varied in the combined circuits between Jordan and Egypt. To travel between the two countries, the most common thing is to take a flight between the two capitals: from Cairo International Airport to Amman Queen Alia Airport, or vice versa. It is a direct journey that takes just an hour and a quarter, approximately.
Cairo – Amman is the most used air route on our combined tours between Jordan and Egypt, but it is not the only one that exists: the Jordanian capital is connected to other Egyptian cities, some of them very touristy, such as Sharm el-Sheikh on the Sinai Peninsula (Red Sea) or Alexandria, on the Mediterranean Sea. Sohag and Assiut are also other airports that usually have direct traffic to Jordan.
In addition, Jordan’s second airport, King Hussein Aqaba, also usually operates direct flights to Egypt, mainly to Cairo or to other cities such as Assiut. In any case, you can check the air routes available at any given time.
And when it comes to international flights at the start or end of the circuit, the options are no less numerous. As we tell you on this page on How to get there, Jordan receives flights from numerous cities in Europe, North America, Asia and Africa, especially through its Amman Queen Alia International Airport, while domestic flights from Europe or the aforementioned from Egypt land at Aqaba King Hussein.
Egypt, on the other hand, offers an even wider range, as Cairo International Airport acts as a major gateway for travellers from Europe, Asia, North America and Africa, but other secondary airports can also play the same role, most notably Luxor.
If you are not convinced by the option of flying or simply want to take advantage of other means of transport, you can contact us because we can design an alternative for your Jordan and Egypt combined: for example, the ferry between Nuweiba and Aqaba, which covers a sea distance of about 60 km in about 3 hours.
On the other hand, by road the options become more complex and tedious, since both countries do not share a land border, but are separated by a small strip of land occupied by the Israeli city of Eilat. So there would be two border crossings to cross and that usually means that this option is discarded, as it would complicate and slow down the program.
Egypt is a country that needs no introduction: its main attractions are universally famous and our combined tours of Jordan and Egypt do not overlook them, far from it.
The great tourist icon of the country of the pharaohs are the Pyramids of Giza, promoted precisely by the great monarchs of that civilization. The three constructions of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus form a monumental necropolis that is a must-see, as well as its nearby majestic Grand Egyptian Museum.
Giza is very close to Cairo, the capital, which is also another essential destination for those who visit this country: the mosques and the bazaar of Khan el-Jalili in the Islamic quarter or the historic churches of the Coptic quarter are some of the main surprises of this frenetic city… But there are many more.
If you are interested in a combined tour of Jordan and Egypt, you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to take a cruise in Upper Egypt, which will take you through the waters of the most mythical river in the world: the Nile. Starting in Aswan and ending in Luxor, you will travel through small towns with majestic temples such as Kom Ombo or Edfu.
Precisely in Upper Egypt, before starting the navigation and after finishing it, there are other tourist destinations of maximum interest thanks to their spectacular monuments. This is the case of Abu Simbel, next to Lake Nasser, and the eternal Luxor, with its temples of Karnak and its exciting Valley of the Kings.
And if all this is not enough for you, you can always extend the duration of your combined tour of Jordan and Egypt to add other destinations of interest in the latter country. For example, the Christian monasteries of Wadi Natrun, the sun and beach paradises on the Red Sea (Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada), the holy sites of Sinai or the oases of the Western Desert.
As you can see on this page, we already have pre-designed routes for your combined tour of Jordan and Egypt. But our agency can prepare a tailor-made proposal for your trip to Egypt and/or Jordan adapts to your preferences, both in terms of duration, destinations to visit and services to receive.
